Actually, Mitsubishi officially designated the first-generation 1991-2002 RVR as a “compact multi-purpose vehicle” or MPV. These early examples feature a neat side-mounted sliding door, giving a minivan vibe and the versatile rear seat can be flipped up or down and moved fore and aft, depending on your need for passenger space or cargo room. Loading from the rear is facilitated by a swing-out rear spare tire carrier, and the fold down rear hatch provides easy access.
