This 1991 Suzuki Jimny is a JDM model that’s has recently been imported. It’s powered by a 657cc turbocharged engine that was only offered for the home Kei-class market, all mechanical systems are in good working order. Recognizable as a Samurai to US consumers, these Kei-class turbo examples seem like they could be even more fun, albeit just as slow.
Grey paint looks to be in really good shape. The interior is on par with driver level exterior cosmetics, nearly all surfaces minimal signs of wear. This 657cc turbocharged 3-cylinder should be good for about 60 HP, or pretty much on par with four-cylinder powered US-spec Samurais. 5 Speed Manual transmission helps squeeze the most out of the small motor, but you’ll never have to worry about overpowering the axle shafts. Everything under the hood looks fairly stock.
Tin top Samurais and Jimny’s are among our favorite small off-roaders, and remain very capable in the right hands. This one’s engine and spec make it a more interesting alternative to US-spec trucks, and given how cool triples can sound.
